The cyclone 'Midhili' created in the Bay of Bengal has completely crossed the Bangladesh coast. It has now become weak. After becoming weak, the cyclone is now prevailing on Patuakhali region.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) informed it in its latest notice uploaded to its website at 4:00pm. As the 'Midhili' becomes weak, the Danger Signal No. 7 over the Mongla and Payra ports has been lowered to the Danger Signal No.3, while the Danger Signal No.6 over the Chattogram and Cox's Bazar ports has been lowered to the Danger Signal No.3.

Both the BMD and the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief earlier said 'Midhili' would not be a major cyclonic storm. In reality, it did not last long. However, torrential rain and gusty winds in different parts of the country including coastal districts took place under its influence.

BMD's meteorologist Md Omar Faruque said the maximum speed of the wind in cyclone was in Patuakhali. At about 3:00pm, the speed of the wind there was 102 kmph.
