Milestone achievement for the Rampal Power Plant

It is with great enthusiasm that we report a significant milestone in the energy sector of our nation. The second unit of the 1,320 MW Rampal power plant commenced trial production on Tuesday, marking a remarkable step forward in our quest for reliable and efficient electricity generation.

The journey of the Rampal power plant has not been without its challenges. The first unit of this coal-fired power plant began its operations on December 17, 2022. Unfortunately, technical glitches and coal shortages hampered the first unit's production on several occasions, preventing it from reaching its full capacity of 660 MW. However, it is heartening to note that the first unit is currently operational, providing a much-needed boost to our national power grid.

As we celebrate the successful start of trial production in the second unit, we remain hopeful that the technical issues and coal shortages that plagued the first unit will be addressed effectively, allowing it to operate at full capacity. We anticipate a brighter future with increased electricity production, economic growth, and a higher quality of life for all citizens.
