Maruful Haque returns to Ctg Abahani as an advisor

After a season, the country's famed football coach Maruful Haque has returned to his old Pavilion Chittagong Abahani as a Technical Advisor.

The 54-year-old coach has already begun his work at the club. Maruf worked for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd last season.

Regarding his new assignment, he said, "Chittagong Abahani practices on the BUET ground which is near to my home. As I was not going to coach, they (the club management) requested me to be with the team as an advisor. I agreed to that proposal".

The Chittagong-based club's manager Arman Aziz said, "We formed the team in a hurry.

We were not planning to form the team in the first place. Mahbubul Haque Jewel will be the head coach of the team while Maruful Haque is appointed as an advisor".

For the last time, Maruf was the coach of the Chattogram club in the 2021-2022 season.

After that, he joined Sheikh Jamal DC.
He started his career as a coach in local football with Mohammedan Sporting Club in 2008.

In the last 15 years, he coached many clubs including Mohammedan SC, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, Sheikh Jamal DC, Ctg Abahani, and Arambagh Krira Sangha. He also coached the Bangladesh National Football Team and the Under-23 National Football Team in the meantime.    �AFP
