A week-long tree fair and tree plantation program was started in Rangamati district on Wednesday.
Rangamati District Administration and Forest Department jointly organized the fair on Rangamati municipal premises.
Rangamati MP Dipankar Talukder inaugurated the fair in the morning.
After the inauguration, a discussion was held at Rangamati municipal premises presided over by Rangamati deputy commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan where the MP Dipankar Talukder spoke as the chief guest.
At that time, Rangamati chief forest conservator Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, superintendent of police Mir Abu Tauhid, municipal mayor Akbar Hossain Chowdhury were present, among others.
Earlier, colorful processions were brought out from Rangamati Forest Department office in the morning which paraded the streets of the town and ended on the fair premises.
