Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) celebrated the 53rd Independence and National Day of Bangladesh through different programmes.
BUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Satya Prasad Majumder, BUET Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Jabbar Khan paid homage to the martyrs at National Memorial in Savar on Sunday morning, says a press release.
Deans, department heads, student’s welfare director, BUET registrar, provosts, among others, were present, during the time.
Later, they placed floral wreath at a memorial beside the BUET cafeteria to pay homage to the teachers, students, employees who were killed during the Liberation War.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) celebrated the Independence and National Day with various programmes under the supervision of BUP Cultural Forum on Sunday.
The day was celebrated to mark the historical significance and to create awareness among the young generation. The programme, included hoisting the national flag, discussions, and documentary exhibitions, says BUP press release.
BUP Pro-VC Prof Dr Khondoker Mokaddem Hossain attended the programme as the chief guest and delivered valuable speech highlighting significance of Independence and National Day.
Senior officials, faculty members, staff and students were also present in the programme, among others.
