MBBS admission test results published, 35.34pc pass

Health Minister Zahid Maleque officially announced the results at a press conference held at the Directorate of Health's old building at Mohakhali in Dhaka.
MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) admission test results published on Sunday afternoon with 35.34 per cent pass.

A total of 49,194 students passed the admission test held on Friday (March 10) across the country. Of them, 20,813 are male while 28,381 are female.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque officially announced the results at a press conference held at the Directorate of Health's old building at Mohakhali in Dhaka.

The Health Minister said a total of 1,39,000 students applied for medical college admission tests this year. Of them, 1,35,800 appeared at the tests. Of them, 57,436 examinees took part in the tests at 18 venues of five centres in the Dhaka city.

Zahid Maleque said the medical admission tests were held from 11:00am to 12:00 noon on Friday (March 10) last. The tests were held at 57 venues of 18 government medical colleges and a dental college under the Department of Health Education.

The Health Minister further said the candidates who passed the admission tests were evaluated on the basis of 100 numbers of MCQ, and 200 numbers obtained in the SSC and HSC examinations. Of the examinees, 4,350 were selected for the public medical colleges. After excluding the designated seats for the valiant freedom fighters, tribal and non-tribal communities, candidates were selected on the basis of national merit in rest of the 80 per cent seats and district quotas of 20 per cent seats for admission to the public medical colleges.

Rafsan Zaman got the highest score of 94.25 in the examination. She sat for the exam at Chattogram Medical College.

As many as 135,813 students participated in this year's examination.
