10 Minute School wins Social Impact Award

10 Minute School has won the Swiss Embassy Award for Social Impact at Seedstar Dhaka.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, State Minister for ICT Division Junaid Ahmed Palak and Head of Political, Economic and Cultural Affairs of Swiss Embassy in Bangladesh Christoph Fuchs handed over the prize to the 10 Minute School team at Digital World 2016, said a press release yesterday.
ICT Division Secretary Shyam Sunder Sikder and BASIS President Mustafa Jabbar were also present on the occasion.
With support from the mobile phone operator Robi, 10 Minute School has evolved into being the largest digital education platform of the country. This close association has enabled the platform to scale up its efforts in providing quality education content free of cost for all students regardless of their socio-economic background.
Seedstars World is part of the Swiss group Seedstars who runs this global startup competition in more than 65 emerging and developing markets.
Winners from each of these emerging markets will be given an opportunity to compete in the Seedstars Summit where one will be crowned Seedstars World Global Winner.
The Seedstars Summit 2017 will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland on April 6, 2017 where the all the winners will battle for equity investments of up to $1.5 million.
10 Minute School has a rich library of 910 video tutorials and 1000s of quizzes to cater to the growing needs of its 179,000+ subscribers. One of the most effective features of the platform is the live classes that it organizes over the social media platform Facebook, every day at 8pm to help students from all over the country to prepare for the public exams.
Over 55,000 students from all the districts of Bangladesh are now active members of the live class group.
