Fall of the present Awami League government is now a matter of time, said BNP standing committee member Dr Khondker Mosharraf Hossain.

"No autocrat leaves power voluntarily. Mass upsurge is required to remove them from power. We will be able to oust the present autocratic regime through a mass uprising as we removed the autocrat Ershad from power in the past. We are moving toward that direction," he said while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion held at Abdus Salam Hall of Jatiya Press Club in the capital early Saturday (January 21) afternoon.

Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) organised the discussion.

Dr Khondker Mosharraf said, "It's our first priority to oust the Awami League regime from power. A country can't be run in a way which is now being taking place. We want to implement the liberation war spirit in the country. Because of it, 27 points have been formulated."

Mentioning that late President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman first made rebellion declaring the country's independence in 1971. But, the present government has been trying to make Ziaur Rahman as the spy of Pakistan though Ziaur Rahman was recognised in the foreign media and books as published in different books.

With DAB president Professor Dr Harun al Rashid in the chair, the discussion was attended by DAB's chief adviser and BNP chairperson's advisory council member Professor Dr Farhad Halim Doner as special guest.

DAB secretary general Dr Md Abdus Salam supervised the discussion.

The discussion was also attended by Sanmilito Peshajibi Parishad member secretary Kader Gani Chowdhury, DAB vice-president Dr Mosaddek Hossain Biswas Dambel, Dr Sirajul Islam, Dr Md Fakhruzzaman Fakhrul, Dr Mehedi Hasan and treasurer Dr Zahirul Islam, among others.
