
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Wednesday urged the entrepreneur to introduced green technology to enhance efficiency of labourers for boosting industrial productions.
"If we can introduce the new green technology in production, we believe, we can achieve the goal of middle income country by 2018, three years before the estimated timeline of vision 2021," Amu said while addressing the award ceremony of National Productivity and Excellence Award-2015 at a Dhaka hotel.
He said the environment-friendly industrial production will lead the third industrial revolution in the developing countries.
The Industries Minister said so while handing over the awards to the representatives of the recipient of 18 enterprises in 6 categories, at a function held under the aegis of the National Productivity Organisation (NPO).
Top six companies - Heidelberg Cement, Ethics Advanced Technology Limited, Devine IT, Bondhon Social Welfare Society, Maxim International and Jamuna Fertilizer Company Limited - got the third edition of the award respectively in large industry, medium industry, small industry, micro industry, cottage industry and state-owned enterprises - got top award in 6 categories among 18 recipients.
Addressing the function, the industries minister called for maintaining quality and productivity to help the country achieve higher economic growth.
"International organisations like-World Bank, IMF (International Monetary Fund), all of them opposed our liberation movement. So we should avoid them and concentrate on increasing local productivity," Amu added.
The minister called for working together in a coordinated manner to boost productivity in the industrial sector and maintain quality of produces in all industrial units across the country.
Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBBCCI) President Abul Matlub Ahmed said that around 70 per cent of population is our assets who are contributing for achieving good figure of Gross Domestic Production.
Amu said the government had been pursuing a friendly industrial policy to attain the desired economic growth through appropriate industrialization.
He also assured entrepreneurs of providing them with all supports to their endeavour towards boosting productivity and quality of products, and hopped that the award would encourage them to this effect.
Presided over by Industries Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, the event was also addressed among others by Bangladesh Investment Development Authority(BIDA) Chiarman Kazi Aminul Islam and NPO Director Azit Kumar Paul.
