After finishing the first phase of the ninth round of Bangladesh Premier League on Thursday, it seemed that the foreign booters are dominating the top scorer list while the locals are still staying low in the list.
Dhaka Abahani's Nigerian striker Sunday Chizoba Nwadialo is appeared to be the top scorer netting 10 goals.
Haitian Wedson Anselme of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd and Nigerian Nkowcha Kingsley of Brothers Union Ltd are second and third highest scorers scoring nine goal each.
Fourth topper Team BJMC's Samson Illiasu netted seven goals while fifth highest scorer Augustin Walson of Brothers Union Ltd and sixth top scorer Leonel Saint Preux of Chittagong Abahani Ltd netted six goals each.
Among the local players, only winger Zahid Hossain did a better score netting five goals and that was the highest of any local in the league this season. The Chittagong booter is currently at the seventh place among the top scorers.
Other two local booters, Towhidul Alam Towhid of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra and Tawhidul Alam Shabuz of Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd are at the 10th and 11th position netting five goals each.
The other top scores are Emeka Darlinghton of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd, Ahmed Kolo Musa of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra, Lee Andrew Tuck of Dhaka Abahani Ltd and Siyo Zunapio of Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society, all scored five goals each.
Still there are some local booters who may shine in the second phase considering their first phase performances.
Striker Sajidur Rahman Sajid of Arambagh Krira Sangha, Mehbub Hasan Nayon of Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society, Chowmrin Rakhaine of Soccre Club, Feni netted a total of four goals each.
As the mid-league player transfer will be completed before the second phase of the Bangladesh Premier League, there will be a few changes in the player list of the teams too. That will also put some changes in the strengths of the teams as well.
