Public Security Division's senior secretary Akhter Hossain sent on retirement

Public Security Division's senior secretary Md Akhter Hossain has been sent on retirement.

His retirement order will come into effect on October 30 (Sunday) next. Afterward, he will enjoy all kinds of pre- and post-retirement benefits.

A circular issued at the directive of the President was signed by ABM Iftekharul Islam Khondker, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration,  on Tuesday (October 25, 2022).

The circular said that Md Akhter Hossain was sent on retirement from November 30 as per the Government Service Act. He was granted post retirement leave (PRL) along with 18 months of basic pay and lamp grant for one year -- from October 31, 2022 to October 30, 2023. He will be entitled to receive retirement and post-retirement leave benefits as per the rules.

Md Akhter Hossain joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Admn Cadre on February 15, 1988. He joined the Ministry of Home Affairs as the Senior Secretary to the Public Security Division on January 12 last. Before joining the post, he served as Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Youth and Sports from June 2, 2021 to January 11, 2022.

Before it, he served as Secretary to this ministry.

He completed his BSc (Hons) in Social Sciences from Dhaka University in 1983 and Masters degree in Sociology in 1984.
