National Award winning director Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond has taken up plans for making a film on the much debated-Rohigya people. Shooting will start during March-April next year. The shooting spots have been selected in the border areas of Teknaf and Cox's Bazar. The script and screenplay has also been finished. Only the selection process of cast members is yet to hit the surface. Actress Shamadarshi from Kolkata is the only one who has been confirmed to be included in the film. Other actors will be selected within months. The director about preparing for the movie said, "I am always thinking about films. That is why as soon as post-production works of a film gets underway I start planning for my next film."
Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond is currently busy with his upcoming film Bahposnan. The film will hopefully be released in February, 2017. He is more prominently known for selecting contemporary issues which causes quite a stir for his films. He debuted with the film Nacholer Rani in 2006. The film was based on the life of Ila Mitra, the anti-British freedom fighter. But Diamond's film Gangajatra on the life in brothels beat them all grabbing eight National Film Awards, seven Bachsas Awards along with huge critical appreciation.
