27 held in Rajshahi on different charges

Police have arrested 27 people from different areas in Rajshahi city on various charges.

Of the arrestees, 12 had warrants against them while nine were drug addicts and the rest were detained on different charges.

They were arrested during several drives conducted in the city from Thursday night to Friday morning. Several cases are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, said police.

Police also recovered a large amount of drugs during the drives, said Mohammad Golam Ruhul Quddus, additional deputy commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.

The arrested persons were sent to jail following court orders.
