Hefazat secretary gen Nurul Islam Jihadi passes away

Hefazat-e-Islam Secretary General Mawlana Nurul Islam Jihadi passed away at Labaid Hospital in the capital on Monday.

He was 73.

The senior party leader breathed his last at 12 noon while on life support at the hospital.

Confirming the death news, Nurul Islam Jihadi's son Morshed Bin Nur said his father was admitted to the hospital on Saturday night after he suddenly fell sick.

Following deterioration of his health condition, the Hefazat leader had been on life support around 1am on Sunday.

Nurul Islam Jihadi, hailed from Chattogram, took up the post of secretary general on December 23, 2020, after the death of Nur Hossain Kasemi.
