One killed, 15 injured in villagers' clash

HABIGANJ, Sept 4: A youth was killed and 15 others were injured during a clash between two groups of villagers in Bahubal upazila of the district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Opu Sutradhar, 18, son of Krishna Surtadhar.
Local people said, Shubal Sutradhar had a long standing dispute over land with his neighbour Poritosh Sutradhar.
Following that issue, supporters of both groups attacked each other with local weapons at Shyampur village in the morning, leaving 15 injured.
Critically injured Opu was rushed to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where doctors on duty declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Bahubal Police Station Mollah Monir Hossain said, additional police have been deployed to avert any untoward incident.
