Fakhruddin Ahmed-led caretaker government's former adviser and former attorney general AF Hassan Ariff's daughter-in-law has allegedly become the victim of domestic abuses.
Citing the allegation of domestic abuses, Madhuri Akter Neela on Wednesday went to New Market Police Station in the capital along with her son and filed a case against her husband Muaaz Ariff.
She also sought to get the right over her son back in the case.
Contacted, Ramna Zone's deputy commissioner Sajjadur Rahman said the case was filed on Wednesday. Police are looking into the matter. Legal action will be taken on the basis of evidence.
Former attorney general AF Hassan Ariff's daughter-in-law Madhuri Akter Neela mentioned in her case that "(1) My husband Muaaz Ariff, son of AF Hassan Ariff; (2) AF Hassan Ariff, son of unidentified; (3) Parvin Ariff, wife of AF Hassan Ariff; and (4) Umme Hani, daughter of AF Hassan Ariff have been torturing me both physically and mentally since my marriage. They sent me to jail when I was pregnant implicating me in a false case. They tortured my two-year-old daughter keeping her in confinement. They didn't allow my eight-day-old daughter to enter the house.
"Earlier, they killed a three-month-old baby kicking on my abdomen. I had to go for DMC. My hair were cut short. They hold all of my belongings including my car. They have been blackmailing me using my SIM cards, mobile phone and Facebook ID, and threatening to kill me and my second daughter."
Madhuri Akter Neela said, "I learnt after my marriage that Muaaz took alcohol regularly and mix with other women. I also caught him red-handed in several cases. I informed my father-in-law about these incidents. I also told my mother-in-law's sister. I told them that I didn't want to continue my life with Muaaz. Then they advised me saying that 'You are a good girl. My son have problems. Let her come back from Rehab, then you take your decision."
"Accepting their advice, I continued to stay at my husband's house. Then I conceived a baby. But, they proposed to destroy my baby. I started hearing the heartbeat of my baby. I refused their proposal. Muaaz often used to assault me physically. During beating me up, my father-in-law used to advise his son not to leave any abrasion or mark of injury on my body. One day, they sued in a false case when I was a nine-month's pregnant. Instead of granting bail, the court ordered police to send me to jail. I gave birth to my second child on June 6 when I was in jail and got out of jail on June 7 on bail. When I went home, I was not allowed to enter."
