Prof Mashiur appointed NU VC

National University pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Mashiur Rahman has been appointed as the vice-chancellor of the university.

The Ministry of Education gave the appointment issuing a notification on Sunday.

Mashiur had been discharging duties as the pro-vice-chancellor of the university since May 9, 2017.

He was given the charge of serving as the interim Vice Chancellor (VC) Earlier on March 16 .

A professor of the Department of Sociology at Dhaka University, he earned a doctor of philosophy degree from Lund University in Sweden.
