Fire at Sylhet's Kumargaon Power Station; Electricity supply suspended

Power supply of entire Sylhet was suspended after Kumargaon Power Station caught fire on Tuesday morning

The fire broke out at the station around 11:30am.

On information, four units of Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and are working to douse the blaze.

Mokammel Hossain, chief engineer of Sylhey Power Supply Division, said, "Two transformers were already burnt down. As a result, the electricity supply has been stopped. Fire fighters are trying to control the fire."

It is not clear yet how the fire originated, he added
