Manda upazila chairman by-election underway

By-election at Naogaon's Manda upazila parishad is underway on Tuesday in a peaceful manner.

The vote casting began at 9:00am at 108 centres and will continue till 5:00pm without any break.

Awami League-backed candidate Emdadul Haque Molla is contesting with 'Boat' seal while BNP-nominated Mokhlesur Rahman with 'Sheaf of Paddy'.

The total number of voters in the upazila are 309,976.

BGB, police and executive magistrates have been deployed at the voting centres to hold free and fair election maintaining the law and order situation, reports our local correspondent.
