Some 16 senior teachers including the registrar of Hajee Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) went on work abstention on Wednesday protesting 'non-cooperation' from the Vice chancellor.
The teachers have been refraining from discharging all administrative and academic activities for last two days.
Apart from teaching, the protesting teachers also discharge additional administrative and academic duties.
They alleged that VC Prof M Abul Kashem neither came to his office for last seven months nor keep contact with the teachers.
The teachers even could not contact him despite repeated bid.
University treasurer Prof Bidhan Chandra Haldar said, "Teachers extend their cooprration to the administartion doing additional duties. But, it is not possible any longer because of the VC's non-cooperation."
The VC's instruction and advise is badly needed for taking some decision, but he is not appearing before the teachers.
Meanwhile, academic activities at the HSTU came to a halt due to lack of teachers.
