People from all walks of life are paying their last respect to Chitta Ranjan Dutta, Bir Uttam, Sector-4 commander during the Liberation War, at Dhakeshwari National Temple on Tuesday morning.
Dutta's coffin, wrapped in the national flag, will be kept there till 12noon where the war hero will be given state houour.
After that, Dutta's body will be taken to city's Sabujbagh crematorium for his cremation ritual.
On Monday morning, the body of Bir Uttam CR Dutta was brought back home from the USA and kept at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) mortuary.
He passed away at a Florida hospital in the USA on August 25 at the age of 93.
Earlier on August 20, he fell in the bathroom and broke his leg.
He was admitted to a hospital in Florida, the USA after his condition deteriorated.
Dutta had also been suffering from various incurable diseases.
