FMC principal, two suspended over ‘corruption’

Faridpur, July 13: The authorities of Faridpur Medical College (FMC) suspended its Principal Prof Dr ASM Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury and Asstt Prof Gonpoti Biswas Subho on charges of corruption.
The Health and Family Welfare Ministry issued a notification in this connection on Tuesday as per the order of the President.
According to the notification, signed by Health and Family Welfare Secretary Syed Monjurul Islam, the authorities concerned of the medical college purchased 166 medical equipments at a higher cost during the 2012-2013 fiscal, causing excessive financial irregularities.    � UNB
