Former secretary AFM Solaiman Chowdhury has resigned from his party Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
He sent his resignation letter to the party's Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Tuesday afternoon.
"I am stepping down from Jamat-e-Islami on personal reasons. Now I cannot say anything else," Solaiman Chowdhury told a Bangla online news portal.
In his resign letter, Solaiman Chowdhury said, 'I am AFM Solaiman Chowdhury resigned from Bangladesh Jammat-e-Islami as its member at 1:50pm on December 10, 2019.'
The Jamaat member had performed duties as Dhaka, and Chattogram City Corporation secretary, Bangladesh Jute Mills Association chairman, Chattogram WASA chairman, Janata Bank chairman, Petroleum Corporation chairman, secretary of President and other important posts. Last he went to retirement as the National Board of Revenue chairman.
