Five to receive Begum Rokeya Padak 2019

Five people have been selected for receiving the prestigious Begum Rokeya Padak 2019 for their outstanding contributions to society and women's empowerment.
Selina Khaleque was selected for women's education, empowerment, economic and social development.
Professor Shamshunahar for prompting women's education and Dr Faijunesa (posthumously) for ensuring women's right and for social and economic advancement.
Papri Basu was selected for women's right and Begum Akhtar Jahan for social and economic development for women.
The Ministry of Children and Women Affairs will organise the event today at 10: 00 am on the birth anniversary of Begum Rokeya at the Osmani Smriti Auditorium in the city.
