Curtain falls on Humayun Sadhu

Popular actor, director and writer Huamyun Kabir Sadhu passed away around 12 am on October 24 at Square Hospital in the city. His namaz-e-janaza was held at Rahim Metal Jame Masjid, located at Tejgaon in the city, after the Jummah prayers on October 25. Later, he was buried in the graveyard near the mosque.
Earlier on October 2, Humayun Sadhu's family members came to know that he fell sick during a shooting in the city. On October 5, his elder sister admitted him to Park View Hospital, located in Chattogram. As the doctors said that he had an infection in his blood, he was taken back to Dhaka for better treatment. Then he was admitted to Bangladesh Specialised Hospital in the capital where the doctors said that he faced a brain stroke and immediately needs a brain surgery. His family members were planning to take him to India for better treatment and brought him back home. But he was immediately taken to Square Hospital when his physical condition deteriorated further on October 20. After facing another brain stroke, he was kept at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Square Hospital. There he was on life support till his last breath. Noted filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki confirmed the news of his death on a Facebook post. His sudden death shook the hearts of many well wishers and fans of him.
Born and raised in Chattogram, Sadhu shifted to Dhaka in 2001 with an ambition to make a career on Television and films. Later on, he started working as an assistant director on Farooki's TV projects. He made his debut in films through acting in Farooki's film titled 'Made in Bangladesh', released in 2007. He acted in some popular Bengali movies like 'Un Manush', 'Shapludu' etc. Throughout his career, he appeared in numerous TV dramas, films and TVCs. Sadhu first appeared as a director in 2017 through the TV drama titled 'Chikon Pin Er Charger'. A book titled 'Nonai', written by Humayun Sadhu, was launched at Amor Ekushey Boi Mela this year.
