Two killed by lightning strike

Two men were killed by lightning strike at Lalchar in Hatia upazila of Noakhali on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Kamrul Islam, 43, and Abul Kalam, 45, residents of Borodoil village of ward no: 6 under Burirchar union in the upazila.

Zia Ali Mobarak Kallol, chairman of Burirchar Union Parishad, said a thunderbolt struck Kamrul and Kalam when they went to their paddy field to bring cattle during rain, leaving them dead on the spot.

Hatia Police Station officer in-charge Abul Khayer confirmed the matter.
