MYMENSINGH, Sept 19: Police and members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-14, in separate drives, arrested four drug traders with different contraband items from Gafargaon and Fulbaria upazilas of the district, in two days.
Police, in a drive, arrested two drug dealers with 27 yaba tablets from Pagla Bazaar area in Gafargaon Upazila on Wednesday evening.
The arrested are Shamim Mia, 28, and Nayan, 25, of Chapila Village in the upazila.
Inspector (Investigation) of Pagla Police Station (PS) Faizur Rahman confirmed the matter to The Daily Observer on Thursday morning.
He said, acting on a tip-off, police raided the said area and arrested the two with the yaba.
A case under Narcotics Control Act was filed in this connection.
On the other hand, RAB members arrested two drug traders with 82 yaba tablets, 130 grams of hemp, and cash Tk 6,060 from Balashwar Village in Fulbaria Upazila on Tuesday night.
The arrested are Chand Miah, 45, son of Yunus Ali of Balashwar, and Murad, 28, son of Maznu Miah of Chawk Radha Kanai area in the upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-14 led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Tafiqul Alam raided the said area and arrested the two with the drugs.
A case was lodged with Fulbaria PS in this connection, said Officer-in-Charge of the PS Md Firoz Talukder.
