Bashundhara Kings receives trophy

Wants a former football superstar as goodwill ambassador

Bashundhara Kings received the champion trophy of the eleventh edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Saturday after the league had came to an end with a 1-1 tie between Bashundhara and runners-up Dhaka Abahani on the day at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) senior vice president Abdus Salam Murshedy handed over the trophy to the officials and players of champion team.
After the closer of the league, topper Bashundhara had 63 points and runner-up Abahani 58 points. Third placer Sheikh Russel KC got 52 points, while fourth Saif 47, fifth Arambagh 33, sixth Sheikh Jamal 28, seventh Muktijoddha SKC 26, eight Chittagong Abahani 25, and ninth Mohammedan 25, tenth Rahmatganj MFS 22, eleventh Brothers Union 21, twelfth NoFeL Sporting Club 20 and thirteenth Team BJMC 11 points.
The two bottom liners are to get relegated to Bangladesh Championship League (BCL).
In the meantime, Bashundhara Kings, the new champion of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football, is planning to bring a former superstar of football world as its Goodwill Ambassador for the next season.
Imrul Hasan, the president of Bashundhara Kings, confirmed the information on Saturday. He said to media that they are primarily targeting Argentine superstar Diego Armando Maradona and Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho Gacho.
