Mohammedan-Abahani's Dhaka Derby becomes lustreless

The good olden days of Dhaka football is no more and the once famous Dhaka Darby, a heart throbbing rivalry between Dhaka Abahani and Mohammedan, is only a chapter of history.
The traditional Sky Blue Outfits and Black and White Outfits are engaging today (Tuesday) at 7:00pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
The once rivalry between the two has became lustreless nowadays. Still a few fans come at the galleries to see the match while the duo is seen untouched during such events. Especially, 19 times champion of Dhaka football league Dhaka Mohammedan is apparently aimless about its target in the ongoing league. The only aim the most successful club also most title holder of Dhaka league has is to escape the relegation somehow by playing some draw matches. For last couple of seasons, it managed to survive in the league with low point collection.
Nevertheless, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), the governing body of local football is also not feeling anything special about Dhaka Derby. Maybe that is why BFF is set to play a total of five BPL matches on the same day.
Today, in the other matches, Old Dhaka Club Rahmatganj Muslim Friend Society and Team BJMC will face off at 4:00pm in Dhaka while newbie challenger NoFeL Sporting Club and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra will meet at 4:00pm in Noakhali, Bashundhara Kings and Brothers Union to meet at the same time in Nilphamari and Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra and Arambagh Krira Sangha meeting in Gopalganj.
Once, a match between Dhaka Abahani and Mohammedan meant a lot to the local football devotees. But, the day has passed and may be BFF too wanted to forget the past by scheduling so many matches on the same day and giving no preference to the specific match.
