JOYPURHAT, May 8: The district did a good result in the SSC exam under Rajshahi Education Board (REB).
REB Exam Controller Prof Dr Anwarul Haque Pramanik declared the result on Monday.
District Education Department and deputy commissioner's office worked to advance the district which was lagging behind.
DC office sources said 9,324 candidates appeared for SSC from 146 schools in 17 centres.
The pass rate of Joypurhat is 94.97 per cent. A total of 8,855 students passed from the district while 491 candidates got GPA-5. Of them, 94.14 per cent are boys and 95.82 per cent are girls.
Out of 59 examinees from Joypurhat Girls' Cadet College, 100 per cent passed with GPA-5.
Out of 228 examinees from Joypurhat Ramdeo Bajla Government High School, all have passed and 182 got GPA-5.
Out of 244 students from Joypurhat Government Girls' High School, 138 got GPA-5.
Among others, examinees from Panchbibi NM Government Girls High School, LBP Government High School, Kalai Moin Uddin Government High School, Khetlal Pilot High School, Akkelpur FU High School, Joypurhat Sadar Thana High School, Police Line's Academy, Khanajpur High School, and Teghor High School passed with good results.
Deputy Commissioner Md Jakir Hossain said free book distribution, fair education environment and preventing drop out, forming scout team and many other initiatives helped make the achievement.
District Education Officer Ibrahim Khalilullah said increase of monitoring by education officers, meetings with head teachers of different institutions, making multimedia classrooms, and solving problems with forming committees brought the good result.
