Actually I am a workaholic person. I wanted to be a cricketer but as I could not, so I try to support my team as a fan. I've also written cricket related songs such as "Jole Utho Bangladesh (Durbin Band)", "Joy Hobei Hobe (Imran and Porshi)", etc.
Do you have plan to watch the Cricket World Cup as well?
I have already started writing lyrics for the upcoming Cricket World Cup and soon people will be able to listen to them. I have already pre-ordered three tickets, including the match between Bangladesh and Pakistan to be played at the Lords Cricket Ground on 5 July. I just wish I get the visa without any hindrance as watching a game at the Lords is one of my long cherished dreams!
This year 15 of your songs got released in just three months. How does it feel?
It feels great that the leading singers of our country have faith on my lyrics. Many of them consider me as their lucky charm! I also feel great that my lyrics are well received and appreciated by the listeners as well. Some of my songs released in the last three months are: "Megher E Khame (Imran and Anisa)", "Bangladesh (Salma)", "Jodi (Mahtim Shakib)", "Eto Kache Esechi (Ibrar Tipu and Bindu Kona)", etc.
When you pen a lyric, what do you consider most?
First of all I analyze how the lyric will connect with the singer and the listeners. Secondly I deeply consider my surroundings, the mood of my listeners, what they might expect from my songs, etc. I truly believe analyzing the human psychology in a given time is very important to make a lyric relevant and appealing to the listeners.
Some of the renowned singers of the Bollywood have given vocals to your lyrics. Please tell us something about this.
So far 20 Bollywood playback singers have given vocals to my writings. They are: Mohammad Irfan, Jubin Nautiyal, Shuvomita, etc. Akriti Kakkar and Papon will also sing in my lyric which will be released soon.
Where do you want to see yourself ten years down the line?
I just want to keep writing and delivering some quality lyrics to my fans. I prefer the quality of a lyric, rather than a commercially successful lyric.
