Pro-Awami League panel has won in Rajshahi Bar Association election defeating the BNP-Jamaat supported candidates on Thursday.
Out of total 21 posts, the Awami League and left leaning supported Combined Lawyers Coordinated panel grabbed twenty posts including president and general secretary posts while the panel of Jatiyatabadi Lawyers United Council got only one executive member post.
Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Sheikh Jahangir Alam declared the result at night.
Lokman Ali and Ekramul Haque were elected president and general secretary for the third consecutive term respectively.
The other office-bearers are: Sunirmal Saha, Syeda Morjina Khatun and Entajul Haque Babu (Vice-president), Siraji Shawkat Saleheen and Sazeman Ali (Joint-Secretaries), Akhtarul Alam Babu (Accounts), Muhammad Ali (Library), Helal Ahmed (Audit), Jalal Uddin (Press and Information), Momtaj Khanom (Magazine and Culture) and Asir Uddin, Shafiqul Islam, Ahsan Habib, Mizanur Rahman Badsha, Imam Hassan, Sheikh Tozammel Ahmed, Sadiqul Islam, Soma Khatun and Monwara Begum (Members).
In two panels, forty-two candidates contested in the election for the 21 post.
A total of 541 out of total 578 voters exercised their franchise in the election held from 9 am to 5 pm.
