
bKash Limited, the leading mobile financial service provider in the country in association with Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) and Bangladesh Bank on Saturday organised a day-long workshop on 'Technological innovations and its impact on AML and CFT Practices in MFS' for the senior officials of bKash to sensitise them on the issue.
Addressing the workshop, Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan urges the practitioners to ensure AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and CFT (Combating the Financing of Terrorism) practices with effective utilization of technological innovations.
Speaking at the workshop, Kamal Quadir, Chief Executive Officer of bKash Limited said: "By using state of the art technology, we will be able to minimize money laundering and terrorist financing risks more precisely."
He added bKash engages itself in complete adherence to its AML and CFT practices in accordance to the prescribed rules and regulations of Bangladesh Bank and other regulatory bodies.
Major General (Retd) Sheikh Md. Monirul Islam, Chief External and Corporate Affairs Officer and Chief Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance Officer (CAMLCO) of bKash Limited moderated the workshop, while Mohammad Azmal Huda, Chief Technology Officer of bKash briefed the upcoming technological innovations bKash is adapting soon.
Abu Hena Mohd. Razee Hassan, Head of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) was present at the workshop as the Chief Guest while Masud Rana, Joint Director of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit presented the keynote paper.
A total of 125 officials of Bangladesh Bank, BRAC Bank Limited, other banks and bKash participated at the workshop held at Hotel Purbani International.
