Old Dhaka club Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society had played the third tie match in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League on Saturday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka. With the 2-2 tie on the day, NoFeL Sporting Club found its first point in the event. Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society's former head coach Kamal Ahmed Babu was on the dugout of NoFeL Sporting Club against the Old Dhaka team on the day. NoFeL Sporting Club, named with the initials of the three neighbouring districts Noakhali, Feni and Lakkhipur, lost the first three consecutive matches before the draw. Rahmatganj, on the other hand, had two points from two draws. They had played one match more than the rivals. The Old Dhaka club went ahead in the 25th minute. NoFeL's Nigerian defender Eleta Benjamin jr fouled Rahmatganj's Congolese striker Siyo Zunapio Jeancy and Rahmatganj was awarded a freekick. Midfielder Faysal Ahmed took the freekick, Nigerian defender Monday Osagie headed the ball and Siyo Zunapio sent it home. Rahmatganj doubled the lead in the 31st minute when Monday converted a cross of Foysal into the post. NoFeL boys failed to show good moves in the first half sparked in the second half. They reduced the margin in the 5th minute of the second half when midfielder M Roman received a cross of Guinee striker Ismail Bangoura and hit the net with a low powered shot. Rahmatganj became a 10-man force in the 61st minute after its striker Sohel Rana was shown a second yellow card (equal to a red card) for hitting NoFeL defender Masud Rana Mridha. Guinee striker Ismail Bangoura took the penalty shot and hit the net directly. None of the rivals could break the tie till the end. Big budget team Bashundhara Kings won over Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 3-1 margin in the other match on the day at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj. With the two matches on Saturday, the fifth round of the league was closed. Following a two-day rest, the sixth round of the event will begin on Tuesday. Arambagh Krira Sangha and defending champion Dhaka Abahani will play the first match on the day at 3:00pm at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh. Gopibagh's Brothers Union will meet Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at 4:00pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
