Development plans taken for BD's betterment

PANCHAGARH, Jan 28: Railway Minister Advocate Nurul Islam Sujan, MP, has said the present government has taken many development plans considering progress and betterment of the country and welfare of the people.
"We have to build our country in the spirit of the Liberation War. There is no compromise with the Razakars who opposed the independence and denied the Great War of Liberation. They cannot have political and democratic rights," he said.
The minister made these comments as chief guest while addressing a mass civic reception function organised by Debiganj Upazila Awami League (AL) at Devdarutola Village in Debiganj Upazila of Panchagarh District on Friday night.
Sujan said the people have brought the AL to power for the third consecutive time, and that's why responsibility of the AL is to take the country forward to fulfil their hopes and aspirations.
"The present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced zero tolerance against corruption, terrorism and drugs," he said, directing the administrations concerned to take legal actions against the criminals, regardless of the party.
With Debiganj Upazila AL President ASM Nuruzzaman in the chair, General Secretary of Panchagarh District AL and Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Anwar Sadat Samrat, Debiganj Upazila AL General Secretary and Upazila Parishad (UP) Chairman Hasanuzzaman Chowdhury George, among others, spoke.
At the function, heads and leaders of 81 government and non-government organisations, socio-cultural and professional organisations of Debiganj Upazila accorded warm reception to the minister.
Earlier in the afternoon, Debiganj Upazila administration accorded reception at Debiganj Upazila Parishad conference room.
With Debiganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Prottay Hassan in the chair, upazila level government officials, UP chairmen and members, civil society members and local elite were present.
