Sabura Malek
NOAKHALI: Wife of former President of Awami League and former Speaker of the parliament late Abdul Malek Ukil, died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital on Tuesday. She was 88.
Sabura had been suffering from various old-age complications for a long time.
Her first namaz-e-janaza was held at Banani in the capital on Tuesday and she was buried beside her husband's grave near Court Building after 2nd second namaz-e-janaza at Noakhali Zila School.
In a condolence message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of Sabura Malek.
In a separate condolence message, AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader also mourned the death of Sabura Malek.
She left behind two sons, five daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.

Jelatun Nesa
SIRAJGANJ: Jelatun Nesa, mother of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Alauddin, died of old age complications at her house in Majnabari Village of Kazipur Upazila of the district on Thursday.
Family sources said she had been suffering from different diseases for long.
Different associations of the university expressed deep shock at her death.
She was buried at her family graveyard after namaz-e-janaza on Friday.
She left behind five sons, eight daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.

Nur-e-Alam Nuru
BARISHAL: M. Nur-e-Alam Nuru, a valiant freedom fighter, general secretary of Barishal District Sports Authority, deputy commander of Muktijoddha Sangsad, Barishal City unit command, and youth and sports secretary of District unit Awami League, died on Monday evening at Mawa ferry ghat on way to Dhaka for better treatment. He was 68.
He was attacked by heart problem on Monday morning and was admitted to Barishal Rahat Anwar Hospital. As per the direction of the hospital's doctor, he was going to Dhaka for treatment.
Barishal City Corporation Mayor Serniabat Sadik Abdulla and leaders of different political parties and sports organisations expressed shock at the death of Nurul Alam.   
He was laid to rest at Barishal Muslim Graveyard on Tuesday noon. He left behind wife, two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
