A local Jubo League leader was hacked to death and two others were injured in an attack allegedly by rivals in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram district on Monday afternoon.
Deceased Syed Mohammad Daud Samrat, 35, was a member of Sitakunda upazila unit Jubo League while the injured are Amal and Sajjad, said Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Outpost assistant sub-inspector Alaudding.
Quoting locals, the police official said a group of miscreants swooped on Samrat and two others with sharp weapons at Bholagiri around 4:00pm, leaving the trio severely injured.
Samrat died after being taken to CMCH, added the sub-inspector.
Locals said a brother of Jubo League leader Shahid alias Shahid Dakat was killed allegedly by followers of Daud two months back.
Shahid's supporters might have been behind the murder, they said.
