47th death anniv of Birsrestha Jahangir observed

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Dec 14: The 47th death anniversary of Birsrestha Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir was observed on Chhota Sonamasjid premises in Shibganj Upazila of the district on Friday.
In this connection, wreaths were placed at the martyrs' monument, and special munajat was offered.
Later, a discussion meeting was also held at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Chowdhury Rowshan Islam in the chair.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Borman Hossain, family members of Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir, and teachers and students of different educational institutions were also present.
On December 14, 1971, Birsreshta Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir was killed in a face to face battle with Pakistani occupation forces at Rehaichar on the bank of Mohananda River. Later, he was buried on the Sonamasjid premises.
