Presenter Farzana Brownia tied the knot with Lieutenant General (Rtd) Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy and both of them termed it as an arranged marriage.
The marriage of the former army official now has become a hotcake inside and outside of the cantonment.
“We got married after a long understanding with each other. The decision was finalized after the consensus of respective families also. In 2015, I met him while doing a two-week long Capstone Course at National Defence College, Mirpur. Relationship grew further at that time. I married him on November 16,” Farzana told a Bangla daily.
“I hope both families will also be happy along with us,” said Chowdhury Hasan, adding, he divorced his previous wife.
Chowdhury Hasan led the Rana Plaza rescue operation as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 9th Infantry Division. He also served as GOC of ARTDOC, Commandant of National Defence College, Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Director General of SSF and Director of Military Intelligence.
Farzana Brownia, a social worker, is director of Shwarno Kishoree Network.
