
The 14-party combine on Saturday formed a joint team to carry out electioneering across the country for the upcoming parliamentary polls.
The alliance formed the team in its meeting held at AL's central office in the capital's Bangabandhu Avenue. Alliance spokesperson and Awami League Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim will lead the team as its convenor.
Members of the team are Workers Party of Bangladesh (WPB) President Rashed Khan Menon, General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha, President of a faction of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Hasanul Haq Inu, General Secretary Shirin Akhter, JSD another faction President Sharif Nurul Ambia, General Secretary Nazmul Haque Prodhan, Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Politburo member Lutfor Rahman, NAP Executive President Amina Begum, Joint General Secretary Ismail Hossain, JP Chairman Anowar Hossain Manju, General Secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Ganatantri Party President Barrister Md Arsh Ali, General Secretary Dr Shahadat Hossain, Tariqat Federation Chairman Nazibul Bashar Maizbhandari, Presidium Member Dr Syed Rezaul Haque Chandpuri, Gano Azadi League President SK Shikder, Secretary General Mohammad Ata Ullah Khan, Ganotantrik Majdur Party President Zakir Hossain, Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal Convenor Rezaur Rashid Khan, member Hamidul Kibria Chowdhury, Communist Kendra Convenor Dr Wazedul Islam Khan, and Joint Convenor Dr Asit Baran Roy.
After the meeting, AL leader Nasim said the alliance will obey the decision of AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on seat sharing.
He said, "Oikyafront demanded further deferment of elections as they do not want polls in December, the month of victory. They become afraid when December comes".
Nasim said Bijoymancha (victory stage) will be set up at all upazilas and districts across the country on December 16. Songs will be rendered and dramas on the country's Liberation War will be staged on the Bijoymancha, he added. On the Nayapaltan attack, the 14-party alliance spokesperson said, "It was a pre-planned attack. They (BNP) were ready with sticks for carrying out the attack. But they are now spreading falsehood over the incident.".
