Debi goes for US halls, Komola Rocket for Goa Film Fest

The first film on Humayun Ahmed's fictional character Misir Ali is headed for USA. The film named 'Debi' is also the first film by Anam Biswas and Joya Ahsan. Anam Biswas the screenwriter of Aynabazi has directed the film while Joya Ahsan has produced it in their first attempt. In San Francisco it has already been released.

Like what happened in Bangladesh all the first day tickets for the show were sold out in advance. The film was released on November 3. On November 9 the film would be released in Jamaica Hall of New York. On the following two days the film will be screened in the same hall at 4pm local time. The film will then be taken to twenty more provinces of USA. It has been reported that this is a new achievement for the Bangladeshi film industry as no other film previously was released in twenty states of USA. The team of Debi would however not be part of the film tour. On the other hand Noor Imran Mithu's debut film "Komola Rocket" will take part in Goa International Film Festival in India. The nine-day long festival will start from November 20. The film will take part in World Cinema Category. Previously the film took part in Sri Lanka's Jaffna International Film Festival and in the final round won the Best Debut Award while contesting against eight other films from over the world.
