Red-coloured building becomes branding of Rajshahi College

RAJSHAHI, Nov 2: Rajshahi College (RC) is one of the best colleges in the country because it was at the top for three consecutive times among the affiliated colleges under National University.
The college was established in 1873. It is bearing the testimony of history through its several historic establishments.
The name of the administrative building comes first among all the historic buildings of the college.
In 1884, the two-storied building was built in British architectural style. The Shaheed Minar is on the right side of the administration building. When turning to the left side of the Shaheed Minar, the other historic buildings built as per the pattern of the administration building will be found.
The name of Hajji Muhammad Muhsin is written in white and black on top of the stair. The building has been named after this famous philanthropist. The building was built in 1888. Then Hajji Muhammad Mohsin financially assisted the construction. The colour of this building is also red.
On the south corner of the field, the red-coloured residence of the principal building is situated. Many renowned educators of the sub-continent had stayed in this building.
The principal's building is also built as per the British architectural style. One of the features of the buildings is its deep red colour. Traditional buildings were red-coloured since the establishment.
In addition to the traditional buildings, there are 14 buildings at the college including Kala Bhaban, English Bhaban, Political Science Building, Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Bhaban, Science Building 1, 2 and 3, and Physics Building. These buildings were constructed by the college's own financing. The project exceeded Taka 1 crore, said the college administration.
Principal Prof Habibur Rahman said every building in the college has been reddened. This initiative has been taken to create the red colour as branding of Rajshahi College.
He also said that sustainable infrastructure development is one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the current government. To implement the aim, the buildings of Rajshahi College have been coloured deep red.
With the practice of education, science and culture, this ancient college has contributed to all sectors of the country's development.
