Palestine national football team, the Knights of Filastin, has clinched the title of the fifth edition of Bangabandhu Gold Cup beating Tajikistan by 4-3 margin in tie breaker after the stipulated time of the final match finished goalless on Friday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka. Bangladesh sports loving Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hands over the champions and runners-up trophies among the winners. Champions Palestine boys receive trophy and 50,000 USD as prize money while runners-up Tajikistan boys receive trophy and 25,000 USD as prize money. Palestine custodian Rami KA Hamada is adjudged the man of the final match while Palestine defender Abdallatif MS Albahdari is named the best player of the match and Tajikistan striker Tursunov Komron top scorer of the tournament netting a total of two goals. It is the third international trophy of the Palestine boys. Their first international trophy is 2012 Al Nakba Cup (Also known as the 2012 Palestine International Cup) and the second one is in 2014 AFC Challenge Cup. Earlier on Thursday, Palestine coach Noureddine Ould Ali also said that they wanted to win their third international trophy. On the day, Tajikistan, the Persian Lions become a 10-man unit after a red card was shown to their skipper Fatkhulloev Fatkhullo for hitting Palestine midfielder Sameh FM Maraab in the 36th minutes. After the stipulated time ends result less, the match rolls for extra time and it also finished undecided. In the tie breaker, Palestine booters Jonathan, Aliwisat, Mus'ab KI Battat and Abdallatif netted for Palestine while Abdugafarov, Nazarov and Asrorov netted balls for Tajikistan.
