Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said that the development project of Rajshahi will be done at the cost of Tk 10 thousand crore.
Liton said this while talking to the freedom fighters and
journalists living in the city at a Chinese restaurant in the city on
Thursday night.
Khairuzzaman Liton said, the most significant event in the history of Rajshahi is today (Thursday). On this day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the project of Tk 4,500 crore for the development of Rajshahi WASA. Apart from Rajshahi City Corporation, the water will also be supplied in Naohata Municipality and Katakhali Municipality.
“Because if we do not want, why would the Prime Minister give us?
Yet the Prime Minister is kind to us. In a word, the Prime Minister
approved a project of Tk 4,500 crore for constructing an underground
water treatment plant in Rajshahi.”
Mayor Liton said there are Freedom Fighters Complex for the freedom fighters. Apart from this, the initiative will be taken to construct a separate building for the freedom fighters so that the freedom fighters get all the facilities. Apart from this, the initiative will also be taken to construct residential buildings for journalists.
Freedom fighter Professor Zinatun Nisa Talukder, FF Mir Iqbal, FF Shafiqur Rahman Raja, veteran journalist Mustafizur Rahman Khan Alam, editor of Daily Sonali News, Liaquat Ali, Rajshahi Journalist Union President Kazi Shaheed spoke in the meeting.
