
PIROJPUR, Oct 5: The 100-year old floating markets in wetland areas of Nazirpur and Nesarabad upazilas in the district have become vibrant.
Various items including seedlings, fish, fruits, and vegetables are generally sold in these markets.
These uncommon markets attract many people from across the country.
The markets generally grew up here due to lack of proper road communication. Understanding the reality, the government is trying to make road network, but it is not sufficient. So, the markets have become a tradition for the district.
Boitakhata Bazaar in Nazirpur is well-known for a floating wholesale market there. Traders from different areas of the district and surrounding areas come to his market on boats to buy and sell products.
Different types of vegetables including pumpkin, cucumber, radish, arum, potato, bean, cauliflower, banana, green banana are available in these markets.
