Zayed Khan, general secretary of the body of film actors has confirmed the news. At the press conference she will reveal the facts behind her sudden departure from Bangladesh. After a long pause Anju has expressed her desire to work in the film industry of Bangladesh once again, says Zayed Khan. She will take up the role of producer. Anju is currently settled in Kolkata. The Faridpur born actress left the country in 1996 without any prior or post announcement. Tomorrow she will leave for Kolkata again.

Even though she left for Kolkata she did not leave the world of films. She has been actively engaged with theatre and film practices there. Anju started his acting career in 1972 in local-theatres. In 1982 she debuted in the film "Sawdagor." The 1989 film "Bedyer Meye Josna" brought her into the spotlight. But her luck started dimming soon as newer actresses started to assert their own positions. In 1996 she left in silence.
