CJ’s father Syed Mustafa Ali dies

Advocate Syed Mustafa Ali, father of Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, died of old-age complications at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital on Tuesday. He was 94.
"He was admitted to BSMMU Hospital, where breathed his last at 3.40 pm.  His first namaj-e-janaza will be held at Kakrail Circuit House Jam-e- Masjid and second namaj-e-janaza will be held in Comilla," Supreme Court special officer Mohammad Saifur Rahman told.
The apex court official said Ali will be buried at his ancestral village Deovandar under Doulkhar union in Nangolkot upazila of Cumilla. Ali was a senior advocate in Cumilla.
Meanwhile, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq expressed profound shock at the death of Ali.    -BSS
