Former assistant coach Bangladesh national cricket team Mohammad Salahuddin, who is also very handy among the local coach and popular among the senior national side cricketers, had met with BCB appointed internal auditor Gary Kirsten at Hotel Sonargaon on Tuesday. Ex- Proteas cricketer Gary Kirsten, who was also the head coach of South Africa national team and 2011's Cricket World Cup winning India team, arrived in Dhaka on Sunday evening. Kirsten met three senior cricketers Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mashrafe Mortaza individually on the very first day of his Dhaka assignment. He conversed with more two cricketers Soumya Sarkar and Sabbir Rahman along with the national selectors Minhajul Abedin and Habibul Bashar on the following day. Kirsten also met with BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon on Tuesday. Kirsten started his second day's mission by a meeting with Mohammad Salahuddin. Salahuddin is considered as the guru of many star cricketers of Bangladesh including Shakib Al Hasan and Mominul Haque. After half an hour's meeting, Salahuddin talked before media on their discussion. He said, "He (Kirsten) called me (over phone) to meet with him. I had pleasing meeting with him." "He asked me about the cricket and cricketers of Bangladesh. He asked about me as well," he added. Salahuddin has long history of success in Bangladesh domestic cricket including the BPL title of Comilla Victorians in 2015. BCB offered Kirsten earlier to take long-term charge of Bangladesh team until the ICC World Cup 2019, who initially agreed but changed his mind for some other busy schedules thought the upcoming years.
