Kaushik Hossain Taposh gets Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award

Kaushik Hossain Taposh one of the leading music practitioners and promoters of the time has received the Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award. The award in the category of Best Singer and Best Music Director was handed over to him on April 21 in Mumbai. The singer revealed the news on facebook in the wee hours of April 22. The award has been given marking the 149th birth anniversary of Dada Saheb Phalke. Kaushik Hossain Taposh has got the award as the first Bangladeshi recipient.
In his facebook message he has expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah. His achievement he has dedicated to his inspirer his darling wife Farzana Munny and three of their daughters Nyah, Nazora and Nazish. He has also expressed love for the team of Gaan Bangla, Wind of Change and OMZ. The note ends with him announcing his pride for being a Bangladeshi.
Dada Saheb Phalke Award is one of the most prestigious awards in India's cultural industry. This year the award went to big names of Bollywood like Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Aditi Rao, Shilpa Shetty, Karan Johar and more.
First album of Kaushik Hossain Taposh was released when he was just 8 years old. Later he developed as a music composer, music director and lyricist. He came into limelight with satellite channel Gaan Bangla. He not only engineered the operation of the channel but also took on to himself to make onscreen content. He has been primarily seen in the popular programme Wind of Change. The musical programme shot him to fame as he orchestrated old classics with modern fusion in the show roping in both veterans and highly promising young musicians.
