Joya, Sumi, Pavel, Rajibul in Jio Filmfare nominations

Nominations for Jio Filmfare Awards (East) have been announced. A number of Bangladeshi artistes from different background have been nominated for this year's award ceremony, which will be held on February 17 at Science City Auditorium, Kolkata. Joya Ahsan as usual has been nominated for her acting in the Indian film "Bisharjan". Two band members of Chirkutt Sumi and drummer Pavel have also been nominated this time. The two have been nominated for their work in the film "Doob." Bangladeshi cinematographer Sheikh Rajibul Islam has also been nominated for Doob.
Sumi has been nominated for singing the title song "Ahare Jibon" while Pavel has been nominated for the background score. Joya on the other hand has been nominated best actress in both popular choice and critics choice categories. Bollywood icon Irrfan Khan who starred in Doob has been nominated in the best actor category.
Sumi said that her and Pavel's nomination for music in Doob is not a win for just the two of them but for the entire "Chirkutt" team. She noted that the nomination is in anyway a big achievement. Joya who has been nominated twice in previous editions of the awards also praised Chirkutt's achievement adding that the band is famous in both sides of the Indo-Bangladesh border.
